Art Classes

New year, New classes

Wow, it is a whole new year again.

2011.

After the break, it is hard to get started again, but The Renaissance Art Gallery is open this week. We are back to the normal schedule and normal studio and gallery hours.

Fern Christian will again be leading her studio class of painting for adults on Monday and Saturday mornings from 10:00 am until Noon. This is a continuous class open to all adults. She accepts students for all media, with a special emphasis on water media. Students progress at their own pace and work on their own projects.

Wednesdays are again focusing on drawing, with the junior class from 3:30 to 4:30. This session we will be working with cartoons and caricature. This class is open to school age children. It also is a continuing class. Students are encouraged to call to register. Supplies are simple, pencils, a spiral bound sketch pad and erasers. As usual, Susan Tschantz is on call for this class

In the evening, Susan continues in her campaign to help people learn to draw with an adults drawing class. The adult drawing class starts at 6:00 and runs until 8:00. All you need are pencils and paper. .

Starting this Saturday, January 8, 2011, the winter session of figure drawing will commence. This session is 5 weeks. Class starts at 1:00 pm in the afternoon and goes until 4:00 pm. Students are to bring their own drawing pads, easels, media, etc. Modeling fees will be split between all who attend. All artists should take at least a few session of figure drawing. This is true even for photographers. Working with a live model is a rewarding experience, and can really help develop the needed artistic eye. Bruce Bowersock again will lead this class.

Anyone interested in attending any of these classes is encourage to contact the Renaissance Art Gallery. See the gallery website  www.orgsites.com/wv/renaissance for more information on these classes
