Encaustic Workshop, Aftermath

Had a great time at the Renaissance Art Gallery Sunday.  We had our third Encaustic workshop.

Fern Christian setting up
Boy, we are getting good at this!

The Gallery now has a resident griddle, so we are able to heat wax mixes right there, and we are getting a collection of the pigments. Both Fern Christian and Susan Tschantz have heavy duty heat guns useful to streak wax and to temper layers.

Fern brought her encaustic iron to the workshop. Everyone agrees the most fun you can have ironing!

Both experienced artists and those just trying it for the first time got great results. Between us we all got an education not just in beginning encaustics, and what is possible with encaustics.
